  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  4. Add the flour and whisk for about 1 minute.
  5. Gradually add the milk, whisking continuously until the mixture thickens.
  6. Stir in the cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until the cheese is melted.
  7. Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni and mix well.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
