  • 2 cups sourdough starter
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped dill pickles
  • 1/4 cup pickle juice
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dill weed

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the sourdough starter and warm water until combined.
  2. Add the flour, chopped dill pickles, pickle juice, salt, sugar, and dill weed. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 4-6 hours or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Let the dough rise again for about 1 hour.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  9. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.

  • For a stronger dill flavor, add more dill weed.
