A simple and delicious recipe for Pasta alla Sorrentina, featuring cheesy goodness and comforting flavors.

  • 400g pasta (penne or rigatoni)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add the marinara sauce and dried oregano to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper, and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce, mixing well.
  6. Transfer half of the pasta mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Add the remaining pasta mixture and top with the remaining cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to add cooked vegetables or protein for extra flavor.
  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
