  • 2 pounds of potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons of butter, for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish.
  4. In a bowl, mix together the heavy cream, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  5. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese over the cream mixture.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
  8. Top with grated Parmesan cheese.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
