12 lasagna noodles
1 pound ground beef
1 pound Italian sausage
2 cups ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
4 cups marinara sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and Italian sausage, cooking until browned.
Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
In a separate bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce, followed by half of the meat mixture, half of the ricotta mixture, and a layer of marinara sauce.
Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of noodles topped with marinara sauce and the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute the meat with sautéed vegetables.
Can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
