  • 1 loaf of brioche bread, cut into thick slices
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  2. Arrange the brioche slices in a greased baking dish, overlapping them slightly.
  3. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
  4. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) the next morning.
  6. Remove the plastic wrap and sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the top of the French toast.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and the custard is set.
