  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin spice
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, eggs, and pumpkin spice until well combined.
  3. Pour half of the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the batter in the baking dish.
  6. Pour the remaining batter on top of the cream cheese layer.
  7. If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts and chocolate chips on top.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add more pumpkin spice.
  • Serve warm with whipped cream for an extra treat.
  • This cake can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
